The Garden of Eden

I love golf, for a lot of reasons. It's relaxing, fun, social. But most of all, I love the scenery; walking on a giant, perfectly groomed lawn surrounded by trees and bushes. Frequently, I play golf without shoes, just so I can feel the grass between my toes.

If this is my favorite part of golf, how amazing would it be to play on a course like Augusta National? The picture above is from the video stream I was watching online: poor resolution, faded colors, and yet it looks like the Garden of Eden.

With scenery as a motivator, I think I've got a good line-up of sports in my quiver:

  • Golf (the epitome of green space)
  • Road biking (best done on lone, country roads)
  • Snowboarding (Utah mountains in winter, enough said)

A life with good, solid work balanced with these kinds of recreation.  Doesn't get much better than that.

You forgot swimming in country rivers. Ok, so they can be a little fishy and murky, but on a sticky summer day in NY, nothing beats!

How about running the river or hiking at Red Canyon?
